In my daily life, I meet many ordinary people, but an old bookstore owner I met recently left a deep and special impression on me. He is the most interesting person I have come across lately.
The old bookstore is a small, quiet shop near my community. Unlike modern busy shopping malls, it is filled with the warm smell of old paper and ink. The owner is a gray-haired man in his sixties. He always wears a clean cotton coat and has a gentle smile on his face. What makes him interesting is not his appearance, but his unique attitude towards life and books.
He runs the bookstore not for big profits. Most of the books in his shop are second-hand, and he sets very low prices. What surprises me most is that he allows students to read books for free in the shop all day long. Whenever I go there, I can always see him sitting quietly by the window, reading or tidying up books carefully.
He is also a very patient and warm person. Once I was confused about an article and sighed softly while reading. He noticed me and took the initiative to explain the difficult sentences and share his understanding patiently. He told me that books are the best companions and we can find peace and strength from them.
What moves and interests me most is his persistence. He has kept this small bookstore for more than thirty years. Though fewer people read physical books nowadays, he never thinks of giving up. He said he hopes to keep a quiet little world for book lovers.
This ordinary old man teaches me that true happiness does not come from money or fame. His love for books and his gentle persistence make him bright and special. It is lucky for me to meet such an interesting person, and his spirit will encourage me to cherish every little beauty in life.
