A cartoon pancake stall at Fuqin Night Market in Chengdu is going viral! The vendor uses chocolate to sketch the outline and other ingredients like eggs and milk to draw cartoon characters on the pancakes.
Whether customers choose from fixed designs or provide their own images, the vendor skillfully replicates them with an array of colored sauces. Each time a cartoon pancake takes shape, it sparks "WOW" from customers.

The vendor, Zeng Yaxin, has a background in fine arts and previously worked in education for years. The inspiration to start her own business struck her after she witnessed the booming popularity of Chengdu's night markets, leading her to launch her pancake venture in August 2025.
"I got the idea while visiting night markets," Zeng Yaxin said. "I practiced at home for over a month before deciding to set up my stall at the Fuqin Night Market."

Regarding her sudden online fame and the encouragement she's received, Zeng expressed both surprise and happiness. Though she no longer paints daily with brushes and paper, she continues to create through this different medium.
